Jetairfly rebrands as TUIfly Belgium

Jetairfly (TB, Brussels National) has rebranded itself as TUIfly (Belgium) (TB, Brussels National) with effect from Wednesday, October 19. The move is part of parent firm TUI AG's decision to create a singular brand name across four of its carriers.

The first stage of the project saw Arke Fly (OR, Amsterdam) rebranded as TUIfly (Netherlands) (OR, Amsterdam) followed by Jetairfly's transformation into TUIfly (Belgium). The second stage will see TUIfly Nordic (6B, Stockholm Arlanda) and Thomson Airways (BY, London Luton) being rebranded. Corsair International (SS, Paris Orly) has been excluded from the exercise.

Despite the change in name, all five airlines in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK will continue to operate under their own AOCs, however a unified brand name and image will allow for improved fleet interoperability, especially during the busy summer season.
“A strong one-brand policy will make it considerably easier to use the aircraft of the European fleet and the crews across the individual countries, as demand requires it. The resulting increase in the effectiveness of TUI airlines is to enable TUI to deliver operational efficiency improvements worth EUR50 million per annum by 2018,” TUI AG said.
For its part, TUIfly Belgium operates five B737-700s, fourteen B737-800s, one B767-300(ER), one B787-8, and three EMB-190s.

Boeing, Jetairfly Celebrate Delivery of Airline's First 787 Dreamliner

EVERETT, Wash., Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Jetairfly today celebrated the delivery of the airline's first 787. The airplane departed Paine Field in Everett on Tuesday on its delivery flight to Brussels.

"We are very excited about the Jetairfly Dreamliner entering service as the first and only 787 operated by a Belgian airline," said Elie Bruyninckx, CEO TUI Belgium. "This aircraft isn't only a perfect match with our innovative and sustainable philosophy. It is also a great asset in our strategy of offering unique holiday experiences to our passengers, especially when they fly between Europe and the Caribbean."

The 787 is scheduled to begin flying short and medium haul Jetairfly routes in early December and long haul routes between Christmas and the New Year.

"We are very excited that Jetairfly will be flying the 787 Dreamliner," said, Todd Nelp, vice president of European Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "The 787 will replace the airline's 767 and offer the best possible flying and cabin experience."

Passengers traveling on Jetairfly's 787 will experience the passenger-pleasing features of the Dreamliner such as larger, electronically-dimmable windows and larger overhead luggage bins. During flight the 787 is pressurized to a lower cabin altitude, has higher humidity levels, advanced air filtration and smoother ride technology to make the flying experience more comfortable and allow passengers to arrive at their destination more refreshed.

The 787 is the most technologically advanced airplane in the sky with composite materials making up 50 percent of the primary structure, including the fuselage and wing. This allows the Dreamliner to use 20 percent less fuel and emit 20 percent fewer CO2 emissions than similarly sized airplanes.

Jetairfly is part of the TUI Travel PLC, the largest tourism group in the world.

Jetairfly Takes Delivery of First E190 from BOC Aviation

Cesar Novaes - Recife  - Brasil

Jetairfly, the Belgian subsidiary of TUI Travel PLC (“TUI Travel”), one of the world’s leading leisure travel groups, has received the first of two EMBRAER 190 leased from BOC Aviation, the Singapore-based aircraft leasing company. The aircraft was delivered during a ceremony at Embraer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The second E190 is due to follow during the first semester of 2013.

Jetairfly’s E190s are configured with 112 slim line seats in a single-class layout. The company plans to operate the aircraft from Brussels airport to various destinations in its European network including Faro in Portugal, Málaga in Spain, and Zakynthos in Greece.

“Not only are we welcoming a new customer to our portfolio of E-Jet operators, the airline’s selection is yet another endorsement of the versatility of the E-Jets product line”, said Paulo Cesar Silva, President and CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “Jetairfly will deploy its E190s to offer its passengers more nonstop options more often and to more destinations.”

The delivery to Jetairfly broadens the range of business applications of E-Jets. The 70- to 120- seat, four-aircraft family is flying today with low fare airlines, in regional networks, with full-service mainline carriers and now with tour operators, like TUI Travel.

“We are very enthusiastic about welcoming this first EMBRAER 190 in Jetairfly’s fleet and start operations with this brand new aircraft. It will allow us to schedule new direct routes with one of the most eco-efficient aircraft, providing our passengers with a high level of comfort,” stated Elie Bruyninckx, Chairman of Jetairfly. “The E190 will help us to right size demand on some seasonal routes and lower our operational costs.”

“The introduction of this first E190 to Jetairfly’s fleet further consolidates our company’s partnership with TUI Travel PLC and also with Embraer. We are delighted to be the first aircraft leasing company to deliver the E190 to a tour operator and we are able to do it because the economics of the aircraft works for this business,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BOC Aviation.

Since entering revenue service in 2004, Embraer has received more than 1,000 E-Jet orders. There are over 60 customers from 40 countries who are operating E-Jets. More than 900 E-Jets have been delivered to customers around the world.
