SPECIAL LIVERY - Airlink Sporting a Gorgeous Green Getup

Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, today revealed its latest bespoke-liveried aircraft, an Embraer E190, in a gorgeous green getup.

The newly-painted aircraft, registration ZS-YAE, made its debut this evening on a flight from Polokwane to O.R. Tambo International Airport and from tomorrow it will operate on Airlink’s main domestic and regional trunk services throughout Southern and East Africa.

“The aircraft is one of three sporting our Airlink Skybucks customer loyalty programme paint schemes. Its unveiling coincides with Airlink being named the Official Domestic Airline for the forthcoming Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry 2026 Tournament where we will fly the New Zealand and South African teams and personnel between their matches,” said de Villiers Engelbrecht, Airlink CEO.

The rugby tournament’s official logo is also displayed on both sides of the aircraft and will also soon appear on its black sistership, ZS-YDE.

Airlink’s current fleet comprises over 70 Embraer-manufactured aircraft, and together, they carry over four million passengers a year on about 250 flights every day.

A team of six specially-qualified technicians using electrostatic equipment painted the aircraft at Airlink’s new maintenance base at Polokwane’s Gateway International Airport in Limpopo Province. The base incorporates a dedicated 96m x 46m aircraft paint-shop, which has the capacity to paint up to 13 aircraft a year.

NEW AIRLINE / FLEET - Brazza Airlines wet leases E145, E190

Brazza Airlines, the new Congolese subsidiary of French airline Thalair, has commenced commercial operations between Brazzaville and Pointe Noire with two Embraer jets wet-leased from Regourd Aviation (Paris Le Bourget), ADS-B data confirms.

Regourd Aviation CEO Alain Regourd confirmed to ch-aviation that the wet lease had been arranged "for several months" but was unable to disclose the final timing as this was still under negotiations.

The 13.6-year-old E190, F-HDRI (msn 19000570), is being operated under an Amelia (8R, Paris Le Bourget) flight code, having arrived in Brazzaville on April 18 from St. Brieuc in France, via Ghardaia and N'Djamena. It is owned by Amelia parent Regourd Aviation and is fitted with 98 seats in a three-class cabin layout, according to ch-aviation data. Bamboo Airways formerly operated the jet under the registration VP-CFL. It was first delivered to China Southern Airlines in 2012.

The second aircraft, 17.7-year-old E145 F-HOXY (msn 14501027), also owned by Regourd Aviation, arrived in Pointe Noire and Brazzaville on April 21 under an Amelia International flight code, having been ferried from St. Brieuc via Dakar Blaise Diagne International, Lomé, and Agadir Al Massira, according to ADS-B data. The 50-seater single-class jet was first delivered to Grand China Express Airlines, which later rebranded as Tianjin Airlines, in 2008, ch-aviation data reveals.

Regourd Aviation acquired two E190s in 2025 to develop the 100-seater charter and ACMI market.

Brazza Airlines intends to serve more domestic routes, including Ollombo, Ouesso, Impfondo, and Dolisie.

FLEET - Africa World Airlines (Ghana) plans to introduce E190 aircraft in 2H 2026, which is expected to be sourced from sister carrier, Tianjin Airlines (China).

FLEET - Nigerian Airline Enugu Air Receives New Embraer E190 (5N-EN0)

Founded in July 2025, Enugu Air initially began operations under the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) of XEJet Limited. The airline currently uses a combination of Embraer E170 and E190 jets.
 

FLEET - XEJet Expands Fleet with Embraer E190 and E195

XEJet Limited is preparing to receive two new Embraer E190 and E195 aircraft into its fleet, marking a crucial step in the airline's ongoing expansion strategy.

The addition of these new aircraft will strengthen XEJet's operational capabilities, particularly on high-demand routes connecting major Nigerian cities such as Lagos and Abuja.

AIRLINE / FLEET - Congo Airways has acquired an E190 (2-RLCA)to retain its operating license and restart operations in 1Q 2026.

The used aircraft is owned by shareholder, National Social Security Fund, which leases the E190 to the carrier. Two additional aircraft are expected to join the fleet.

FLEET - Nigeria’s Enugu Air expects fleet of 20 aircraft by YE26

Nigeria's Enugu State plans to acquire 14 additional aircraft in 2026, taking the fleet of its virtual carrier Enugu Air to 20, Governor Peter Mbah announced in his 2026 budget speech to the Enugu House of Assembly last week.

"As you know, we procured three aircraft earlier in the year, and we have already concluded the acquisition of another three, which are due to arrive shortly, but certainly before Christmas. So we currently have six aircraft," he said to loud applause.

He said Enugu Air had become "an economic enabler and a strategic platform for our emergence as a regional hub".

Enugu Air is operated by Nigerian air operator certificate (AOC) holder Xejet (4U, Lagos) with a fleet of three Embraer regional jets, all purchased outright by Enugu State. This includes one E190 and two E170s acquired from Egypt's CIAF Leasing - Air Operation (Cairo International). ADS-B data shows that only one E170, 5N-ENU (msn 17000274), is currently active on domestic routes serving Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt City, and Benin City. Sistership 5N-ENR (msn 17000175) is parked at Asaba.

NEW AIRLINE - K-Impex Airline, new airline acquires 4 Embraer190

K-Impex Airline Limited, which began preparations for its 2021 launch, is about to receive four Embraer E190 aircraft.

The four Embraer E190 jets will have a capacity for 98 passengers – 90 in economy class and 8 in business class.

K-Impex Airline aims to fill untapped air transport market segments throughout Nigeria, serving over 40 destinations, including smaller cities and airstrips not normally served by major airlines.

FLEET / ROUTES - BermudAir mulls bigger aircraft for transatlantic ops

BermudAir (2T, Bermuda) may be interested in looking at options for larger aircraft for potential transatlantic growth, according to chief executive Adam Scott.

In an interview with Aerospace Global News, Scott said that fleet development is already under review.

“We are always seeking ways to upgrade, enhance, and improve our product. We are actively looking at larger aircraft with a desire to fly transatlantic in the future,” he said. He did not identify a specific aircraft type, however, nor a potential timeline for these expansion plans.

According to ch-aviation data, BermudAir’s fleet currently comprises two E175s and two E190s.

In addition to these plans, BermudAir expects subsidiary AnguillAir to begin operations in mid-December, launching services from Anguilla to New York Newark on December 18 and to Boston and Baltimore International the next day, Scott said. These routes will be operated with BermudAir’s E190 fleet.

AnguillAir will allow BermudAir to balance seasonality and scale down capacity during the winter's low-season.

Skyworld Aviation has further developed its activity in the E190 market, and has most recently assisted with the transition of a China-based aircraft on behalf of a major U.S.–based regional aircraft lessor. Serial number 19000313 was transferred onto the N register as N709AJ and ferried out of Tianjin, China on 15th October, arriving Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil on 17th October. This transaction was facilitated by Skyworld through its relationship with Tianjin Airlines (part of the HNA Group). The aircraft is awaiting maintenance prior to being offered for lease or sale

FLEET - EMBRAER CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF E-JETS SERVICE WITH FINNAIR AND NORRA - FLYING TOGETHER SINCE 2005

Helsinki, Finland – Today marks a special milestone in European aviation as Embraer, Finnair, and Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra) celebrate 20 years of E-Jets service. On October 1, 2005, Finnair operated its first Embraer E170 revenue flight from Helsinki to Oslo, ushering in a new era of regional connectivity, comfort, and reliability. Since October 2012, Norra has proudly flown the Embraer aircraft across the skies of Europe on behalf of Finnair.
To commemorate this anniversary, executives from the airlines and Embraer gathered at Helsinki Airport for a celebratory event ahead of flight AY915, which retraced the historic route to Oslo, departing at 16:10 local time. The flight was assigned a specially designated call-sign – “FIN20Y”.

Munich, 30 September 2025 - The DTM is taking off into the final week: ahead of the decisive race weekend in Hockenheim (3 to 5 October), the DTM is presenting a passenger jet in DTM livery together with German Airways, the second oldest German airline. As part of a co-operation with the airline, the Embraer E190-100LR with the registration D-AMWO is now flying on scheduled services between various German airports and Amsterdam in the DTM design. At an exclusive press conference at Cologne Bonn Airport on Monday, DTM and German Airways presented the 100-seater aircraft together with DTM title favourites Lucas Auer, Jordan Pepper, Ayhancan Güven and Fabio Scherer.

Fans of the DTM and the ADAC GT Masters will recognise German Airways as a partner of HRT Ford Performance on their Ford Mustang GT3 - both in the DTM with Fabio Scherer and in the ADAC GT Masters with championship leaders Salman Owega and Finn Wiebelhaus. In the partnership with the airline, the DTM is now not only present on the tarmac, but also above the clouds: The Embraer of German Airways bears the key visual and the logo of the racing series as well as the design of Fabio Scherer's Ford Mustang GT3. The DTM is also visible in the interior of the jet - for example on the so-called head rest covers and with information material in the seat pockets.

"From now on, the DTM will also have a spectacular presence above the clouds. DTM racing cars and aeroplanes are equally fascinating - the combination of the two is inspiring. We are delighted that we were able to realise this flying brand ambassador together with German Airways. FLEET - Titan Airways adds first E190

Titan Airways (ZT, London Stansted) has acquired its first E190. The aircraft is also the carrier's first regional jet.
G-POWX (msn 19000543) was registered in the United Kingdom on June 26, 2025. It was ferried from Maastricht to London Stansted on June 27, according to Flightradar24 ADS-B data. The 2012-built aircraft can seat up to 97 passengers in a dual-class layout, including nine business class seats and 88 economy class seats. It is owned by Hagondale Limited, the parent company of Titan Airways. G-POWX was previously operated by Air Astana and MAI - Myanmar Airways International, ch-aviation data shows.
Titan Airways plans to use the E190 for both ACMI contracts and charter flights. The airline did not respond to ch-aviation's question about its future fleet plans
Titan Airways' fleet comprises two A320-200s, two A321-200s, three A321-200NX(LR)s, and one A330-300(P2F). The company's subsidiary Titan Airways Malta operates three A321-200(P2F)s. It never operated any commercial Embraer aircraft, although between 2010 and 2014, it operated a single Legacy 650 business jet.

NEW LIVERY - German Airways presents new aircraft livery

Cologne/Bonn, 14 April 2025 – German Airways, Germany's second oldest airline, is sending its fleet of eight Embraer E190 aircraft to Technik for a comprehensive rebranding. The first aircraft in the new design has left the maintenance hangar at Cologne/Bonn Airport and impresses with a modern and dynamic design that further develops the airline's brand identity. Aircraft D-AJHW will undergo final maintenance work in the next few days, after which it will return to scheduled service at short notice.

One striking feature of the new livery is the redesigned tail fin. It displays a dynamically dotted black, red and gold flag that is clearly distinguished from the aircraft fuselage. The winglets are also designed in the German colors. With this fresh look, German Airways is emphasizing the innovation of its identity as a carrier from Germany and sending a visible signal of reliability and technical excellence. The flag-carrier color scheme was already an integral part of the design in the previous livery. The airline is now refraining from explicitly displaying the company name on the tail and instead letting the colors speak for themselves.

“After almost five years of use, the German Airways brand has become firmly established in the European market. We are delighted to be able to present the new look almost simultaneously with the start of the current summer flight schedule,” explains Maren Wolters, Managing Director. ”As a service provider with typically German quality characteristics such as reliability and high technical performance, we would also like to take the next visual step.”

German Airways is an airline with the second-oldest operating license in the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition to the charter business – including for sports teams – the airline's main focus is on the wet lease sector. This involves leasing aircraft and crews to major European airlines. Currently, most of the aircraft in the fleet are in use for KLM Cityhopper and will now also bear the words “Operating for KLM Cityhopper”. Maren Wolters: “We are very proud that we are able to integrate the logo of our strategic partner into the new design – a very important symbol of the appreciation of our performance.”

The recently completed redesign of the first aircraft marks the start of the redesign of the entire fleet. With this step, German Airways is not only focusing on a modern appearance, but also on a clear recognition value of its home country.
