ORDER - Air China Cargo increases A350F freighter order to 10 aircraft

Air China Cargo Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "Air China Cargo") has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for four additional A350F freighters, taking its total order for the type to 10 aircraft. Air China Cargo previously ordered six A350F freighters in November 2025.

“This additional order, following our initial A350F order last year, is a crucial strategic decision for the company to further optimise our fleet structure and expand transport capacity. It will allow us to better match and meet the demands of the international air cargo market, laying a solid foundation for the company's long-term stable development," said Wang Hongyan, Vice President of Air China Cargo.

Air China Cargo began introducing Airbus freighters at the end of 2023, and currently operates a fleet of eight Airbus A330-200P2F aircraft. In the near future, the A350F freighter will join Air China Cargo’s fleet and will complement the A330-200P2F freighters, maximising their advantages on long-haul and medium-to-long-haul routes.

Designed to be the world's most advanced cargo aircraft, the A350F meets the evolving demands of the global air freight market. Thanks to a range capability of up to 8,700 kilometres with a payload of up to 111 tonnes, it will allow operators to deploy it on international long-haul routes. Made from over 70% advanced materials, the A350F is 46 tonnes lighter than competitor aircraft.

Powered by the latest Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, the aircraft will bring a reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions of up to 20% when compared to previous generation aircraft with a similar payload-range capability. It is the only freighter fully meeting ICAO's 2027 CO₂ emission standards. The A350F is able to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at entry-to-service, with the aim for up to 100% capability by 2030, as with all Airbus aircraft.

At the end of April 2026, the A350F had registered 101 orders from 14 customers.

ORDER - Air China Cargo plans order for up to 10 Airbus A350F freighters

Air China Cargo is set to expand its all-cargo fleet with plans to order up to 10 Airbus A350F aircraft,

In a filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on 28 October, the airline confirmed it had signed an agreement with Airbus covering six firm orders and four options, valued at $4.65 billion at list prices. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery between 2029 and 2031.

FLEET - Air China Cargo adds first A330-200 freighter

Air China Cargo (CA, Beijing Capital) has taken delivery of its first of eight repurposed A330-200(P2F)s following the handing over of B-6090 (msn 860) on December 15.

The 16.4-year-old twinjet, which was last in passenger service with Air China (CA, Beijing Capital) until January of this year, underwent P2F conversion at the AMECO facility at Chengdu Shuangliu.

According to the carrier's latest listing prospectus, three other A330-200(P2F)s will deliver in 2024 followed by four in 2025.

Air China Cargo also operates three B747-400FSCDs alongside nine B777-Fs. It also has four more B777-Fs due from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) - msn 67834, 67835, 67836, and 67837 - as part of a revised 2021 agreement, all of which are due by 2025. It is also in the process of offloading its four B757-200(PCF)s which will be sold via the Beijing Equity Exchange.

Air China Cargo Receives Seventh B777-200F Freighter

A brand new Boeing 777-200F aircraft of Air China Cargo Co., Ltd. (CA) landed smoothly at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) at 0:22 a.m. on July 15, marking the official delivery of its seventh B777-200F ordered from Boeing headquartered in Seattle, U.S.

The newly introduced freighter, Registration B-2093, will be put into Shanghai Pudong-Amsterdam service, helping the cargo airline expand its international cargo network and enhance its operating quality.

As China's only flag cargo carrier, Air China Cargo currently owns a fleet of 14 cargo aircraft including 7 777-200Fs, 3 747-400Fs and 4 757-200SFs. With another B777-200F on order and to be delivered within this year, Air China Cargo will be China's largest cargo airline at that time.

As China's only flag cargo carrier, Air China Cargo owns a fleet of 13 cargo aircraft including 6 777-200Fs, 3 747-400Fs and 4 757-200SFs. Besides, the carrier has 8 Boeing 777Fs on order, 6 of which have completed deliveries and the rest will be handed over by the end of 2015, when Air China Cargo will become the largest all-cargo carrier in China.

As of January 2015, the cargo airline has operated 332 international and domestic cargo routes covering 166 destinations around the world.

China Postal Airlines Takes Delivery of the Last B757F from Air China Cargo

China Postal Airlines took delivery of its fourth all-cargo aircraft from Air China Cargo, a subsidiary of China's flag carrier Air China (CA), with a Boeing 757 cargo plane loaded with Express Mails (EMS) taking off from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), landing smoothly at Nanjing Lukou International Airport (NKG) and then returning back to PEK.

It is learnt that China Postal Airlines signed a contract with Air China Cargo for chartering four B757s in Aug. 2013. The new-introduced B757F is the last freighter delivered from Air China Cargo, which will be deployed to operate Beijing-Nanjing-Beijing charter service to expand the carrier's independent routes network. Up till now, China Postal Airlines operates a fleet of 26 aircraft, including 22 Boeing 737 freighters and 4 Boeing 757Fs.

The 4 B757Fs, with a max cargo capacity of 30 tons are deployed on Chengdu-Nanjing-Chengdu, Changchun-Shenyang-Nanjing-Changchun, Guangzhou-Nanjing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Nanjing-Beijing service. The delivery of the new aircraft not only ease traffic pressure on Express Mail Service for the carrier, but also optimize its independent network and boost competitiveness in mail express and cargo transport market.

Air China Cargo Takes Delivery of Brand New B777-200F

At 2:10 a.m., Aug, 31, a brand new Boeing 777-200F of Air China Cargo, registration number B-2091, landed smoothly at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), marking the official delivery of its fifth new B777-200F ordered from Boeing. According to the company plan, the rest three B777-200Fs will be delivered by the end of 2015.

As China's only flag cargo carrier, Air China Cargo has 3 cargo aircraft models: B747, B777 and B757. As of 2015, Air China Cargo will expand its fleet size to 15 freighters and construct an overall cargo network centering Beijing and Shanghai. So far, the cargo airline operates 293 international and domestic cargo routes covering 161 destinations around the world with 1,111 truck routes as supplements. The cargo company can deliver goods around the world rapidly with comprehensive air-land combined network.

1st B777-200F air freighter joins Air China Cargo

 

The first B777-200F air freighter ordered by Air China Cargo from Boeing made a smooth landing on the Beijing Capital International Airport.
All-new B777-200F's joining is a major move of Air China Cargo to adjust its strategy and optimize its fleet structure, which has boosted the competitiveness of the company's air freight network and will create conditions for the company to further enhance its competitive role in the Chinese freight market and consolidate its market position.

As a new-generation long-distance air freighter with higher fuel efficiency, B777-200F can effectively enhance route operation performance.

According to its fleet plan, Air China Cargo ordered eight B777-200F air freighters from Boeing. Apart from the delivered one, the other seven units will be delivered in succession from 2014 to 2015.

Air China Cargo is making all-out efforts to step up the construction of its hubs in Beijing and Shanghai. B777-200F which has just arrived will be put into operation on long-distance European and American routes with Shanghai as the key operation base. According to sources, the first B777-200F air freighter will fly Frankfurt and Osaka routes every Wednesday. Air China Cargo now operates 32 European, American and Asian-Pacific freight flights weekly, with waypoints in cities like Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Osaka and Taipei.

B777-200F's joining in Air China Cargo's fleet marks that the company has opened up an era of operating B747, B777 and B757 simultaneously as China's only cargo airline carrying the national flag. The first B757 air freighter went into operation on November 22, 2013. Air China Cargo will own 15 air freighters by 2015, thus bringing into being an integrated airfreight network taking Beijing and Shanghai as hubs and radiating the world. With 284 airfreight routes, 145 waypoints and over 600 truck routes supplementing the air freighter network and the airliner bellyhold network worldwide, Air China Cargo has formed a perfect route network combining air and ground operations thereby delivering cargo to every corner of the world rapidly.
