FLEET - Air Côte d'Ivoire Reinstates A320neo After Year-long Grounding

Air Côte d'Ivoire repatriated its Airbus A320-200neo after nearly a year of storage in France. 

The aircraft returns to the Ivorian company's fleet at a time when two other planes are grounded.

DUBAI AIR SHOW - ORDER - Air Côte D’ivoire Orders Four Embraer E175S To Boost Regional Connectivity

Dubai, UAE, November 17, 2025 – Air Côte d’Ivoire, the national carrier of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, has signed a firm order for four Embraer (B3: EMBJ3, NYSE: EMBJ) E175 aircraft, with eight additional purchase rights, as part of its fleet modernization and regional expansion strategy. The aircraft will be configured with 76 seats in a two-class layout – 12 in Business Class and 64 in Economy – offering passengers a comfortable and efficient travel experience.

The first E175 jet delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2027, and the deal will be added to Embraer’s Q4 2025 backlog.

Air Côte d’Ivoire will deploy the E175s on domestic and regional routes, supporting the airline’s goal to grow its network, enhance connectivity, and gradually replace its turboprop fleet. The E175 was selected for its greater range, speed, passenger comfort, and increased cargo capacity compared to turboprops – making it the ideal aircraft to support the airline’s evolving operations.

The aircraft will also play a key role in feeding Air Côte d’Ivoire’s hub in Abidjan, increasing frequencies and strengthening regional links. The airline recently launched long-haul service to Paris Charles de Gaulle, and the E175 will help optimize connectivity to and from the hub.

Currently, Embraer has 250 aircraft in operation, across 56 different African operators. Over the past 10 years, Embraer's fleet in Africa has grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.5%. As a result, Embraer now leads the market in Africa for aircraft with up to 150 seats, holding a 31% market share.

FLEET - Air Côte d'Ivoire welcomes 1st A330-900

On 4 September 2025, Air Côte d'Ivoire took delivery of its first Airbus A330-900. The aircraft, registered TU-TRG (2086), was handed-over with a special delivery ceremony and departed to Abidjan.

It's the first of two A330-900s the airline ordered in 2022. Initially, the type will be deployed between Abidjan and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Air Côte d'Ivoire, however, has also said it has interest in using the A330-900 on new routes to Brussels, London-Heathrow, and New York-JFK.Next to its new A330neo, the fleet of airline is made-up of five A319s, two A320s, one A320neo, and four DHC-8-400s.

FLEET - Air Cote d’Ivoire is expected to take delivery of its new A330-900 on 29 August 2025, which will be placed on long-haul service between Abidjan and Paris.

Air Côte d’Ivoire orders Airbus A330neo

 On 25 October 2022, Airbus and Air Côte d’Ivoire signed a firm for two Airbus A330neos. Although the press-release doesn't mention the exact type, other sources are claiming that the two aircraft will be A330-900s. Both will be delivered in 2024 and used by the airline to expand its international network.

Air Côte d’Ivoire currently operates a fleet of two A319s, two A320s, one A320neo and four DHC-8-400s.

Air Côte d’Ivoire receives its first Airbus A320neo

 One tonne of humanitarian goods on board to serve local communities

Toulouse, 18 February 2021 – Air Côte d’Ivoire, Ivory Coast’s flagship carrier based in Abidjan, has taken delivery of its first A320neo, becoming the first operator of the type in the West-African region. This latest generation aircraft will join Air Côte d’Ivoire’s existing Airbus fleet of six aircraft.

With improved levels of efficiency, this new aircraft will be deployed on Air Côte d’Ivoire’s regional network to serve Senegal, Gabon, and Cameroon. Destinations like South Africa will be added at a later stage, highlighting the operational flexibility of the A320neo. Powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines, the aircraft is configured in a comfortable two-class layout with 16 seats in Business and 132 seats in Economy Class. Passengers will benefit from the widest cabin of any single-aisle aircraft, high-speed Internet connectivity and latest generation in-flight entertainment system.

Air Cote d’Ivoire’s first A320neo took off from Toulouse carrying 1 tonne of humanitarian goods including medical equipment and toys. In partnership with Aviation sans Frontières and the Airbus Foundation, the mission is part of Air Côte d'Ivoire’s corporate social responsibility initiative. The transported goods will serve local NGOs in Abidjan, thus supporting the education and health sector in the country.

Air Cote d’Ivoire has a fleet of 10 aircraft, including three A319s and three A320s, serving 25 domestic and regional destinations in West and Central Africa.

The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new generation engines, Sharklets and aerodynamics, which together deliver 20% in fuel savings and CO2 reduction. The A320neo Family has won 7,450 orders from nearly 120 customers.

Air Côte D’Ivoire orders two A320neos and two A320s

First order of the A320neo in Africa

Air Côte D’Ivoire, the national airline of Ivory Coast based in Abidjan, has signed a firm order for two A320neo and two A320 aircraft. The agreement makes Air Côte D’Ivoire the first African airline to order the A320neo. The airline’s first purchase agreement directly with Airbus also makes Air Côte D’Ivoire a new customer.

Air Côte D’Ivoire selected the A320 Family for its wider cabin, low operating costs and excellent fuel efficiency. The airline has selected CFM engines for their A320 fleet. Air Côte D’Ivoire currently operates five Airbus aircraft on lease; 4 A319s and 1 A320.

The aircraft will feature a 2-class cabin layout. The new aircraft will fit seamlessly into the airline’s current fleet, thanks to Airbus’ fleet commonality, and best-in-class passenger comfort of any single aisle aircraft.

Air Côte d’Ivoire will also improve its punctuality and reliability thanks to these latest-generation Airbus aircraft,” said General Abdoulaye Coulibaly, Chairman of the Board.

This new order will strengthen the airline’s network that reaches today 23 international routes throughout West and Central Africa and 5 domestic destinations in Ivory Coast.
