Star Air (India) doubles E175 order
Star Air (India) (S5, Belgaum) ordered two incremental E175s in December 2022, increasing its future fleet of the type to four, the carrier said in a social media wrap-up of 2022.
The regional carrier would lease the additional two aircraft from Nordic Aviation Capital. The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows that Star Air currently operates five E145s, which it owns, and secured its first two E175s from Nordic Aviation Capital in the second half of 2022. The first of the pair is slated to be OY-YEF (msn 17000852), a 2.3-year-old aircraft formerly operated by Belavia (B2, Minsk National) and currently under maintenance at Bydgoszcz. Star Air plans to take it and induct it into service in the first quarter of 2023.
Star Air operates scheduled flights in southern and eastern India, mainly out of Belgaum and Bangalore Int'l airports.

Alaska Airlines unveils Horizon-retrojet
On 18 November, Embraer delivered a new ERJ175 to Horizon Air, featuring the airline's original 1980s-livery. The aircraft, N652MK (17000929) will be the carrier's 31th ERJ175.
Currently, Horizon Air's fleet also has a retro-liveried DHC-8-400 (N421QX, 4149). However, with the DHC-8s planned to be retired by the airline by the end of 2023, the airline wanted to have a new aircraft to display the Horizon-heritage.
Horizon Air was founded in 1981 and acquired by Alaska Airlines in 1986. Until 2011 it operated as a separate brand but is since then operating as a capacity production carrier for mother Alaska Airlines, flying in full Alaska Airlines-livery but with Alaska Horizon-titles.
Next to the 31 ERJ175s, the fleet consists of sixteen DHC-8-400s.

Oman Air disposes of E175 fleet
Oman Air (WY, Muscat) has retired all four of its E175s, more than two years after they were withdrawn from use.
A4O-EB (msn 17000324) was ferried from Muscat via Sharm el Sheikh to Katowice on March 29, 2022, followed by A4O-EA (msn 17000323), A4O-EC (msn 17000349), and A4O-ED (msn 17000354) on April 14, 2022. They have since been deregistered from Oman and re-registered in the Isle of Man as M-ABPS, M-ABPR, M-ABPW, and M-ABPX, respectively. They are owned by an Irish SPV, Likoma Propco 1/2.
All four Embraer regional jets were retired from commercial service as of March 21, 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic began. They have since only operated sporadic test flights in Oman.
The E175s were the Omani carrier's only regional aircraft. The airline was also the last commercial operator of any non-executive regional jets in the Gulf region. The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows that currently, Oman Air's smallest aircraft type is the B737-800.

Republic Airways to add 30 E175s amid Delta changes
Republic Airways (YX, Indianapolis Int'l) will add thirty E175s to its fleet to operate a more extensive network of regional routes on behalf of Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson), the capacity provider said in a press release.
The first of the thirty Embraer regional jets will be delivered between October 2019 and July 2020. The aircraft are transfers from Compass Airlines (United States of America) (CP, Minneapolis/St. Paul).
"Our partnership with Delta is a vital part of our business, and we’re excited by the opportunity to expand our relationship with Delta and continue to serve its customers," President and CEO Bryan Bedford said.
To support increased Delta Connection operations, Republic Airways will open new crew bases at Boston and Louisville Int'l airports in December 2019. The carrier currently has a maintenance base at the latter airport and no facilities at the former.
According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, Republic Airways currently operates 129 E175s, of which sixteen operate under the Delta Connection brand. The carrier also operates sixty-two E170s, including twenty-one on behalf of Delta.
Republic Airways also operates on behalf of American Airlines and United Airlines.
The changes are related to the shake-up of Delta Connection's operations. Delta recently announced it will terminate contracts with GoJet Airlines (G7, St. Louis Lambert Int'l) and Compass Airlines while expanding partnerships with Republic Airways, SkyWest Airlines (United States of America) (OO, Salt Lake City), and Endeavor Air (9E, Minneapolis/St. Paul).
Compass Airlines currently operates thirty-six E175s for Delta. SkyWest has already announced it will take over six of these aircraft. All thirty-six units are owned by Delta Air Lines.

Air Burkina adds maiden E175
Air Burkina (2J, Ouagadougou) has taken delivery of its first E175 following the arrival of XT-ABZ (msn 17000316) in Ouagadougou on January 16.
The Embraer Regional Jet is part of a trio of jets - two E195s and one E175 - that the state-owned airline secured from Nordic Aviation Capital in December last year. Thus far, only one E195 has been delivered with the other - msn 19000050 - at Amman Queen Alia awaiting transmission to West Africa.
Air Burkina also operates two E170s, both of which are owned by Aga Khan Foundation but of which only one is active.
Collectively, the recently delivered aircraft are part of the government's investment in the airline, which had been left reeling following the Aga Khan Foundation's divestiture in May 2017.
But despite this investment, African Aerospace magazine reports that Saudi Arabian aviation consultancy Nexus Aero International (NAI) has been approached by Burkina Faso’s president, Roch Kabore, to set up and manage a new airline in the country. Company chief executive Abdullah Al-Sayed did not, however, provide any further details on the project.

JetGo Australia to acquire E175s for Singapore ops in 1H18
JetGo Australia (JG, Brisbane Int'l) is planning to add EMB-175 equipment to its fleet following the signing of a partnership agreement with the city of Karratha in Western Australia.
In a statement, the municipality said Jetgo would operate regular passenger transport (RPT) services from Karratha to each of Brisbane Int'l (2x weekly) and Singapore Changi (2x weekly) during the first half of 2018.
Service launch is dependent on the requisite government approvals being secured.
Commenting on the development, Jetgo Managing Director Paul Bredereck said the Brisbane-Karratha-Singapore service offered new niche opportunities for the airline.
“The agreement with the City of Karratha would underpin Jetgo moving up from its current fleet of Embraer ERJ regional jets in the 37- to 50-seat market segment to the larger 88-seat Embraer E175. This is a logical step for our business and builds on five and a half years of jet operations, including domestic airline services along with domestic and international jet charter services.”
“We have selected the Embraer E175 due to a combination of size, payload-range, cargo capacity, economics and the ready supply of local expertise due to existing EMB-170 and EMB-190 operators in Australia. It also builds upon an already strong relationship between Jetgo and Embraer.”
Karratha is currently connected to Perth Int'l by each of Qantas (through Network Aviation and Cobham Aviation Services Australia) and Virgin Australia International (through Virgin Australia Regional).

Embraer Delivers 1,400th E-Jet to American Airlines
São José dos Campos, Brazil, December 6, 2017 – Embraer celebrates the delivery of its 1,400th E-Jet, an E175, during a ceremony at Embraer’s industrial facilities in São José dos Campos, Brazil. American Airlines took delivery of this milestone aircraft and selected Envoy Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group Inc., to operate the aircraft.
Since American Airlines has been a customer of Embraer for nearly 20 years, subsidiary Envoy is one of the original ERJ operators and currently has over 100 ERJs in its fleet. Combining the 2013 and 2017 E-Jet orders, American has ordered 74 E175s and selected Envoy to operate 54 of those E175s; this delivery represents Envoy’s 44th E175.
“The E-Jet program, one of the most successful aircraft programs in history, has been instrumental in shaping the 70 to 130-seat market we see today. And to celebrate the 1,400th E-Jet delivery with our longtime friends, American Airlines and Envoy, is truly a special moment for us, especially after they took delivery of their first E175 just two years ago,” said John Slattery, President & CEO, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “We understand that being part of an airline’s fleet is also being part of their vision, family, and brand. That’s why, as the market leader of this segment, we are committed to continuously raising the standard in order to provide products and solutions that ultimately benefit their customers.”
“Going back to our first jets in 1998, Envoy has enjoyed a long and very successful partnership with Embraer,” said Pedro Fábregas, President and CEO of Envoy Air. “They take great pride in the aircraft they produce, and it shows in the quality of the E175 being delivered today. Our employees love operating the aircraft as much as our customers enjoy traveling on it, so we are delighted to share in this important milestone. We look forward to receiving 10 more E175s in the near future and operating these outstanding aircraft for many years to come.”
Embraer’s E-Jet family, launched in 1999, has made its mark in the aviation landscape as Embraer is the only manufacturer to develop a modern family of four aircraft specifically targeted for the 70 to 130-seat segment.
With an average mission completion rate of 99.9% and more than 16 million flight cycles, the E-Jet fleet has surpassed the 22 million flight hour milestone. In addition to their proven reliability, E-Jets have a strategically-located global network of customer support and services with more than 40 MRO centers, 9 of which are authorized and over 31 are independent.
Since entering revenue service in 2004, when the first aircraft was delivered to LOT Polish Airlines, the E-Jets family has received more than 1,800 orders and delivered 1,400 aircraft. Today, E-Jets are flying in the fleet of 70 customers in 50 countries. The versatile 70 to 130-seat family has flown more than one billion passengers and flies with low-cost airlines as well as with regional and mainline carriers.

KLM Cityhopper Recebeu Primeiro Embraer E175 De Nova Geração
