NEW AIRLINE - Sin-Kung Airways to launch in Q3 2025

 

Sin-Kung Logistics is set to launch a new cargo airline this year in a bid to enter the air cargo sector.

Sin-Kung Airways will commence operations during the third quarter.

The company plans to lease three aircraft by the end of 2025, with its first delivery scheduled for July.

The moves comes after Sin-Kung Logistics acquired Prima Air, now Sin-Kung Airways, in March.

The company said the rebrand forms part of a broader corporate strategy to align all operations under one unified identity.

Alan Ong, managing director of Sin-Kung Logistics, said: “Sin-Kung Logistics is well-recognised in the air cargo transportation sector.

“By adopting the Sin-Kung identity for our airline operations, we are enhancing our brand visibility and reinforcing our position as a total logistics solutions service provider.

“This marks a significant milestone as we accelerate our air cargo expansion plans across the region.”

The carrier’s initial operations will cover routes between Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Labuan and Hong Kong International airports.

Sin-Kung Airways plans to target key air cargo markets including e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, oil and gas and perishables.

FLEET - Azul to replace its B737-400Fs with A321P2Fs

According to Brazilian aviation newssite Aeroflap, Azul is set to replace its duo of Boeing B737-400SFs with two Airbus A321-200P2Fs. Both aircraft are currently in final stages of conversion at Guangzhou and will become PS-AJA (2741) and PS-AJB (2759).

As the leases of the B737s are expiring, Azul is bringing the Airbuses on board to standardise its operations as the airline is already a major Airbus-operator.

Azul currently operates a fleet that is made-up of 40 ATR72-600s, 51 A320neos, six A321neos, four A330-200s, seven A330-900s, 22 Embraer E195-E2s, 39 ERJ195s and four ERJ195s that are in use as a "phreighter", a passenger-aircraft in use for cargo-flights.

Malaysia-based Asia Cargo Network continues to expand its narrowbody freighter fleet and has added two 737-300Fs for two of its airlines. Firstly, Malaysia-based World Cargo Airlines (WCA), which earlier this year began operating the first 737-800BCF (29052, ex-Aeromexico) in Southeast Asia, has taken delivery of its third aircraft, the 1997-vintage 737-300F (28869, ex-Star Air Cargo)

Longhao Receives Boeing 737-400F From Vallair

The aircraft was previously operated by the Japan Transocean Airlines and was converted at Gameco in Guangzhou

The aircraft is Guangdong Longhao Aviation Group’s addition in its fleet of five 737-300F aircraft, which are primarily deployed for air cargo operations.

Aircraft trading, leasing and specialist MRO organisation, Vallair, has successfully delivered their first Boeing 737-400F to the Guangdong Longhao Aviation Group of China.

Previously operated by the Japan Transocean Airlines, the aircraft was converted at Gameco in Guangzhou under a Pemco STC.

The aircraft is Guangdong Longhao Aviation Group’s addition in its fleet of five 737-300F aircraft, which are primarily deployed for air cargo operations.

Norbert Marx, CEO of Gameco stated “Since entering our co-operation with Pemco, Vallair is our first customer for cargo conversion under the Pemco STC in Guangzhou. Our technical team has worked closely with Vallair’s cargo conversion specialists to ensure that Longhao has the optimum aircraft for their needs.




“Our chosen provider partnership with Vallair in the Asia region establishes a strong commitment to timely completion of the highest standard and the whole team of engineers and technicians at Gameco is extremely proud to deliver this great aircraft.”

Operating out of Guangzhou Airport, Longhao Airlines is a Chinese cargo carrier with a registered capital of $61.6m. Delivering freighter services to domestic and international sectors in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, the carrier was approved by the Civil Aviation Administration in 2016. To date, the carrier maintains nine cargo routes.

Peter Koster, head of Cargo Conversions at Vallair, shared: “Vallair takes a long-term view with regards to its Chinese portfolio, we are carefully building a fleet of Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft that will form the bedrock of our cargo conversion programme. As these mature aircraft come to the end of their operational lease agreements we are extending the life of these assets in the most economically beneficial way through our cost-effective conversion programme.”

VietJetAir scouts B737 dedicated freighter capacity

VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi) is scouting for B737 freighters for its dedicated freight unit, Vice President (Cargo), Do Xuan Quang, has told Cargo Facts.

Speaking in an interview earlier this month, Do said the Vietnamese budget carrier was in talks with various lessors over a pair of B737-400(F)s, and is exploring both ACMI and dry-lease options. It is looking to deploy the aircraft into service during the second half of the year. They will be deployed on the trunk domestic route between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well as to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Hong Kong Int'l, and Tokyo Narita.

VietJetAir is still keen on A330-200(F) capacity albeit only at a later stage. According to Do, VietJetAir's entry into the dedicated freight market is following a phased approach. The first phase entailed the use of bellyhold space while the second entails the induction of narrowbody freighters coupled with the possible signing of interline deals with other airlines. The third phase will see the addition of widebody freighters, he added, without specifying timelines.
