AIRLINE - ECAir do Congo prepares for commercial relaunch in the 2nd Quarter of 2024

ECAir is considering restarting its operations at some point during the second quarter of 2024.

In anticipation of this relaunch, the airline carried out a test flight of your Boeing 737-700 aircraft with the

TN-AJI registration (MSN 33793) in Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Expansion to regional routes will occur once capacity is added. ECAir currently has two Boeing 737-300 aircraft (MSN 27420 and 27421) stored at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as a Boeing 757-200 (MSN 25807) stationed in Addis Ababa.

Before suspending operations, ECAir served destinations such as Bamako, Cotonou, Dakar, Douala,

ECAir is currently majority owned by the Congolese government (99.99%), with the Autonomous Portfrom Pointe-Noire (0.000 015%) and Heli Avia (0.000 015%) as minority stakeholders.

Launched in 2011, ECAir ceased operations in October 2016

ECAIR adds first Jetairfly B737 to fleet

ECAIR - Equatorial Congo Airlines has wet-leased a B737-700 from Jetairfly  with the aircraft, OO-JJI (msn 33793), arriving in Brazzaville from Brussels National on Thursday, August 6.

ECAIR - Equatorial Congo Airlines to debut B767 ops in February

ECAIR - Equatorial Congo Airlines will début its maiden wide-body operations in February next year Airline Route has reported. The aircraft, a wet-leased PrivatAir (Switzerland) B767-300 WIN. HB-JJF (msn 27613), will operate five out of six weekly rotations between Brazzaville and Paris CDG with the other frequency plied by its B757-200.
The B767 is configured with three First Class, 30 Business, and 164 Economy Class seats.

ECAIR to get first B787-8 in 4Q 2015

ECAIR - Equatorial Congo Airlines will add a first B787-8 to its fleet during the final quarter of 2015, Kevin Gotene, the head of network planning and scheduling at the Congolese carrier, has said. Gotene told Routes Online in a recent interview that the aircraft will be sourced from its Swiss partner, PrivatAir, which has two B787-8s on order from Boeing.
