China Eastern Jiangsu Receives Its 41st Airbus Aircraft

At 4:17 p.m. on July 21, an Airbus A319 aircraft, Registration B-8017 landed smoothly at Nanjing Lukou International Airport (NKG) and joined the fleet of China Eastern Airlines (MU)'s Jiangsu Branch.

The new A319 is the six Airbus aircraft of the branch company, bringing its fleet size to 41 aircraft - 29 A320s, six A321s and six A319s.

The arrival of the B-8017 is believed to add transport capacity for the summer travel season.

Tibet Airlines Receives Its 11th Airbus A319 Aircraft

China's Tibet Airlines (TV) took delivery of a new Airbus A319-115 aircraft at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) on Mar.11, 2015, which is the 11th A319 delivered to the airline and the first one in 2015.

The A319 aircraft, known as the "Plateau Prince", is the most preferred airplane for airlines operating flights to and from the Tibet Autonomous Region. The new aircraft features a comfortable two class cabin, seating 128 passengers with 8 in business class and 120 in economy, providing passenger with more legroom and fresh look in cabin.

The airline said it is scheduled to receive another new A319 aircraft at the end of this month, which will join the fleet of Tibet Airlines as its 12th aircraft.

"According to the 2015 fleet expansion plan, four Airbus A319 aircraft will be added to our fleet this year," said Bai Weisan, general manager of Tibet Airlines. As its fleet expands, the airline will extend its reach to more capital cities and major cities, in a bid to build an air bridge between Tibet Autonomous Region and other domestic regions as well as promote local economy development.

China's Tibet Airlines today took delivery of 10th Airbus A319-115 aircraft on Dec. 19.


China's Tibet Airlines today took delivery of 10th Airbus A319-115 aircraft. The new aircraft, registration number B-6467, landed smoothly at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) at 9:55 a.m., after a 9-hour journey from Hamburg, Germany.

The A319 aircraft, known as the "Plateau Prince", is the most preferred airplane for airlines operating flights to and from the Tibet Autonomous Region. The new aircraft features a comfortable two class cabin, seating 128 passengers with 8 in business class and 120 in economy, providing passenger with more legroom and fresh look in cabin.

The new A319 is certificated for high altitude airport operation and Required Navigation Performance - Authorization Required (RNP-AR) and Satcom installed. RNP-AR procedures represent today the most modern navigation technique, allowing the aircraft to fly precisely along a predefined route using on-board navigation systems and the GPS-based "Global Navigation Satellite System" (GNSS).
Meanwhile, the newly introduced aircraft is also equipped with Sharklets which can offer operators up to four percent fuel burn reduction on longer range sectors and provide the flexibility of either adding an additional 100 nautical miles range or increased payload capability of up to 450 kilograms.

Since it received its first Airbus A319 in July 2011, Tibet Airlines has kept stable growth in fleet expansion. With the introduction of new A319, the Lhasa-based carrier expands its fleet size to 10 aircraft. It is also scheduled to take delivery of another four A319s in 2015. As its fleet expands, the airline will extend its reach to more capital cities and major cities, in a bid to build an air bridge between Tibet Autonomous Region and other domestic regions as well as promote local economy development.

Airbus celebrates 200th aircraft assembled in Tianjin

Important milestone highlights successful partnership between Airbus and China

A ceremony was held today at the Airbus (Tianjin) site to celebrate the 200th A320 Family aircraft assembled by the Airbus Tianjin Final Assembly Line (FALC). Daniel Baubil, Airbus Executive Vice President and Head of Single Aisle Family Programme handed over the A319, a member of the A320 Family, to China Eastern Airlines.

Officials from China and Europe, representatives of China Eastern Airlines, Airbus and its Chinese partners, Tianjin Free Trade Zone (TJFTZ) and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), as well as employees of the FALC and Airbus Tianjin Delivery Centre (ATDC), were in attendance.

“The 200th Airbus A320 Family aircraft assembled in Tianjin marks an important milestone of the Airbus partnership with China,” said Airbus China President and CEO, Eric Chen. “We are happy to deliver this aircraft to China Eastern Airlines, and to celebrate this achievement together with the Tianjin Free Trade Zone and AVIC, our partners. We are committed to providing the world’s best aircraft to our customers and keen to continue our win-win cooperation with China.”

China Eastern is one of the largest airlines in China and was the first Chinese airline to operate Airbus aircraft (A310) in 1985. Today, China Eastern Airlines operates a fleet of more than 270 Airbus Single Aisle and Wide-Body aircraft.
In March 2014, Airbus, TJFTZ and AVIC agreed to extend the successful Joint Venture for another 10 years, from 2016 to 2025. The extension, called “Phase II”, will include the final assembly of the A320neo Family from 2017 onwards for delivery to the Asian region.

FALC, inaugurated in 2008, is a joint venture between Airbus, the TJFTZ and AVIC. It is the third A320 Family final assembly line in the world after the FALs in Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany and the first outside Europe. The ATDC delivered the first aircraft assembled in FALC to Sichuan Airlines in June 2009.

Airbus is the leading aircraft manufacturer with the most modern and comprehensive family of airliners on the market, ranging in capacity from 100 to more than 500 seats. Over 14,600 Airbus aircraft have been sold to more than 470 customers and operators worldwide, and more than 8,700 of these have been delivered since the company first entered the market in the early seventies.

Shortly after the delivery of the first aircraft to the country, Airbus started industrial cooperation with China. Today, some 1,100 Airbus aircraft are being operated by Chinese airlines, accounting for some 50% of the total fleet of aircraft over 100 seats in China.

Chinese aviation industry companies have been fully involved in the design and assembly of Airbus aircraft. There are components produced in China on all Airbus commercial aircraft types. Airbus now has four joint ventures with Chinese partners covering training and support, engineering, final assembly and composite manufacturing, in addition to a number of cooperation projects. 
The A320 Family is the world’s best-selling single aisle product line with more than 11,000 orders to date and over 6,200 aircraft delivered. Thanks to its wide cabin, all members of the A320 Family offer the industry’s best level of comfort in all classes and Airbus’ 18” wide seats in economy as standard. To date, more than 900 Airbus A320 Family aircraft are in service in China with 16 operators

 

China Eastern Receives First A319 Equipped with Head-up Display

China Eastern Airlines received its very first Airbus A319 aircraft equipped with head-up display (HUD) system.
Recently, China Eastern Airlines has taken delivery of its very first Airbus A320 Family aircraft equipped with head-up display (HUD) system, with an A319 with traditional livery landing smoothly at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). The newly-introduced aircraft, registration number B-6459, marking MU the first Chinese airline to operate A319 equipped with the HUD.
As one of the three major airlines in China, the Shanghai-based carrier operates a fleet of up to 240 aircraft, including more than 200 A320 Family aircraft. With the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) targeting near-universal use of HUDs by 2025, MU plans to install HUDs on its newly introduced A320s. By 2015, the CAAC wants HUDs in 10% of aircraft that can be fitted with them.
Following the installation of HUDs for the present batch of 12 A319s, the follow-up 16 A320s to be delivered will also be installed the devices. With the introduction of new aircraft, MU's fleet size grows subsequently.
