United to debut B777-300(ER) ops in mid-1Q17

United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) has announced it will commence scheduled B777-300(ER) operations during the first quarter of next year.
The carrier said in a statement last week that the type's maiden return commercial service - Newark-San Francisco, CA - would operate 6x weekly between February 16 and May 4, 2017.

The B777-300(ER)'s maiden intercontinental route - San Francisco, CA-Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok - will launch on March 25 replacing an existing B747-400 service.
United has fourteen B777-300(ER)s on order from Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) and expects all of them to enter revenue service during the course of next year. They are powered by General Electric GE90-115Bs and feature 366 seats with sixty in Business class, 102 in Economy Plus, and 204 in Economy.
