Silver Airways commenced its fourth route to Cuba on 27 October, a 705-kilometre link between Fort Lauderdale and Holguin
Since the approval for scheduled flights between the US and Cuba was granted back in August, Silver Airways has launched flights from Fort Lauderdale to Santa Clara, Camaguey and Cienfuegos. Along with these three services, flights to Holguin will be flown on the airline’s Saab 340s facing no direct competition. On 3 November, the carrier will add a fifth route to the Caribbean island from Fort Lauderdale, a four times weekly link to Santiago de Cuba. The airline’s link to Holguin will be flown thrice-weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays), although on the week of its inauguration the route was flown on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Flights will increase to daily towards the end of this year when referring to OAG schedules.
