Transaero Airlines commits to four A380s

Transaero Airlines, Russia’s second largest airline, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for four A380 aircraft. The agreement was signed by Olga Pleshakova, Transaero Airlines CEO and Christopher Buckley, Airbus’ Executive Vice President Europe, Asia and the Pacific.
Transaero will become the launch customer for the A380 in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe. The Russian carrier plans to start operations with the A380 on its long-range network of high density routes from Moscow. The aircraft will feature a three class cabin layout, seating about 700 passengers. Transaero will announce an engine selection for the new aircraft in the near future.
”Transaero is experienced in operating long-range wide-body aircraft, and is now ready to offer the A380. I am sure that the operation of this high capacity aircraft will stimulate the development of Russia’s aviation sector, in particular airports infrastructure while passengers will benefit from a completely new experience.” said Olga Pleshakova, Transaero Airlines CEO.
“We are very pleased to welcome Transaero as the launch customer for the A380 in Russia,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer - Customers. “We definitely see market potential for the A380 in Russia. Passenger traffic in this region is expected to increase at an average rate of 5.6 per cent per year over the next 20 years. We are convinced that the A380 is the best and most eco-efficient aircraft to meet those market requirements,” added John Leahy.
Transaero Airlines launched its services in November 1991, and currently serves more than 130 routes all over the world.
Since entering service in 2007 the eco-efficient A380 has exceeded all expectations, flying more people further at lower cost (some 16 million passengers up to date). The spacious, quiet cabin and the smooth ride have made the aircraft a favourite with passengers. This has resulted in higher than average load factors and increased profitability on A380 flights, providing airlines with a key competitive advantage wherever they operate the type.
Total orders for the aircraft stand at 236 from 18 customers worldwide and 59 aircraft have been delivered to seven customers.

JetBlue signs firm order for 40 A320neo aircraft

JetBlue Airways has finalized its firm order for 40 A320neo (new engine option) aircraft previously announced at the Paris Air Show in June. The airline has not yet announced its engine selection for the A320neo order. With this contract, JetBlue also converts 30 of its pre-existing orders for A320s to the larger A321 model with enhanced wingtip devices called Sharklets. In total JetBlue currently has on order 40 A320neo aircraft, 30 A321s and 22 A320s.
“We commenced operations with Airbus aircraft nearly 12 years ago, and have since used the A320 family as the backbone of our fleet, receiving great feedback from our customers and crewmembers,” said Mark Powers, Chief Financial Officer of JetBlue Airways. “Our business model is focused on a sustainable growth strategy with emphasis on cost control, while providing the most comfortable experience to our customers. We believe the A320neo fleet with help us meet these goals.”
“Environmental obligations and higher oil prices demand that our industry continues to optimize its equipment and operations, and the A320neo will allow JetBlue to do just that,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers. “This new order for the A320neo demonstrates that the leadership of the airline knows a good thing when they see it and knows it will benefit their business and their customers.”
The A320neo family is the fastest selling airliner ever, with more than 1200 orders and commitments since its launch in late 2010. The new A319, A320 and A321 models feature a choice of two new engines – the PurePower PW1100G from Pratt & Whitney or the LEAP-X from CFM International. The aircraft also feature large wingtip device known as Sharklets. Together this results in a 15 percent fuel burn reduction, corresponding to an annual carbon dioxide reduction of 3,600 metric tons per aircraft.

Chinese Airline Places Conditional Order for Six Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen Aircraft

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that a Chinese airline, which has requested to remain unidentified at the present time, has signed a conditional purchase agreement for six CRJ900 NextGen aircraft. The transaction, which is the first for CRJ900 aircraft in China, includes options on an additional five CRJ900 NextGen aircraft.

Based on the list price for the CRJ900 NextGen aircraft, should the conditional agreement for the six aircraft be converted to a firm order, the contract would be valued at approximately $264 million US. Should all five options also be converted to firm orders, the value of the contract would increase to $491 million US.

“Since the introduction of the original Canadair Regional Jet in 1992, Bombardier’s CRJ Series aircraft have become the best-selling regional aircraft program in history and we look forward to welcoming more operators in China,” said Guy C. Hachey, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace. “Bombardier Aerospace is uniquely positioned as the only aircraft manufacturer with three distinct and optimized aircraft families in the 60- to 149-seat market segment. We are well positioned to grow our commercial aircraft business in China.”

More than 80 Bombardier-produced aircraft, including CRJ Series and Q-Series commercial aircraft, as well as Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets are currently operating in China.

“Bombardier predicts that over the next twenty years, China’s fleet of commercial aircraft will grow as it becomes the world’s second largest market for new aircraft deliveries, following closely behind the United States,” said Andy Solem, Vice President, Sales, China, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “We predict a demand for almost 2,400 commercial aircraft in the 60- to 149-seat segment in China and are working closely with local airlines, suppliers and stakeholders to assist in fleet and infrastructure expansion.”

Like other members of the CRJ Series family of aircraft, the light weight and advanced aerodynamics of the CRJ900 NextGen regional jet combine to deliver improved efficiency and reduced operating costs compared to other aircraft in its class. The combination of a larger winglet and other optimizations since the launch of the CRJ900 aircraft, give the CRJ900 NextGen regional jet excellent airfield and en-route fuel consumption. All CRJ NextGen aircraft feature new interiors with larger overhead luggage bins, larger windows, improved lighting, and redesigned ceiling panels and sidewalls.

Worldwide, CRJ Series aircraft are in service with more than 60 airlines and have logged more than 31 million flight hours and 26 million take-off and landing cycles. In addition to airline operations, more than 30 customers operate corporate variants of CRJ Series aircraft.

Bombardier has recorded firm orders for 1,708 CRJ Series aircraft (including 265 CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft), with 1,647 CRJ Series aircraft (including 252 CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft) delivered as of July 31, 2011.

ANA OPERATES WORLD’S FIRST PASSENGER FLIGHT OF

TOKYO October 26, 2011 - All Nippon Airways, Japan’s largest airline, made aviation history today by operating the first ever passenger flight of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the world’s most advanced airliner.
The specially chartered flight took off from Narita Airport, Tokyo, with more than 240 passengers of board just after midday and landed four hours and a half later in Hong Kong.
Built mainly from carbon fiber composite material, the Dreamliner raises the bar for fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. The 787 uses 20% less fuel, meaning it is the first mid-size airplane capable of flying long-range routes while cutting carbon emissions.
The Dreamliner’s other innovation include:
Passenger-friendly cabin air pressure - Passenger comfort will be improved by maintaining air pressure inside the cabin at the equivalent of an altitude of 6,000 feet (1,800m), noticeably lower than the 8,000 feet (2,400m) maintained on conventional aircraft. The plane’s composite materials also allow for humidity to be maintained at a more comfortable level for passengers.
Auto-dimming windows - The 787’s windows are 30% larger than those on the Boeing 767. A higher eye level means passengers can maintain a view of the horizon throughout the flight while smart glass “auto-dimming” windows use electro-chromatic technology to reduce cabin glare at a touch of a button while allowing passengers to still see outside.
Largest overhead compartments yet - approximately 30% larger than those on the Boeing 777, the overhead compartments are the largest in the industry and have enough space to hold four large-size carry-on bags.
The 787 Dreamliner has strong links with Japan, with Japanese manufacturers providing approximately 35% of all the aircraft parts, including key sections of the wings and fuselage.
ANA has ordered 55 Dreamliners from Boeing and has already received two planes, with a total of 20 expected to be delivered by the end of FY2012. The Dreamliners will eventually help ANA save ¥10 billion a year (US$130m) through fuel savings.
Scheduled services featuring the Dreamliner will begin on 1 November to domestic Japanese destinations and international services on ANA will commence in the following two months with flights initially to Beijing and Frankfurt.
Before boarding the inaugural flight, Chief Executive and President of ANA, Shinichiro Ito said:
“ANA is proud to be the world’s first airline to fly the 787 Dreamliner.
“This revolutionary new aircraft will transform air travel for passengers and help ANA in its strategic goal of becoming Asia’s number one airline.
“The innovative design features of the 787 Dreamliner, many pioneered here in Japan, will benefit passengers, airlines and the environment alike. As the aircraft’s launch customer, ANA was honored to work alongside Boeing in the development of the 787 Dreamliner and we are now looking forward to introducing more of these fantastic aircraft across our network.”
Accompanying Mr. Ito on the flight were executives from ANA and Boeing, Hong Kong airport official, media and specially invited ANA customers. A premium package tour including Business Class flights were sold in online charity auctions, with one passenger paying more than US$30,000 for the privilege of being on board. All profits from the auction were donated to Conservation International (http://www.conservation.org/sites/japan/) and OISCA (http://www.oisca.org/).
Two domestic excursion flights, departing and landing at Narita and lasting approximately an hour, are also planned following the flight to Hong Kong to allow more ANA customers to experience the increased level of comfort resulting from the plane’s innovative features.

Air Pacific selects versatile A330 for fleet renewal and growth

Fiji’s national carrier, Air Pacific, has selected Airbus aircraft to renew and to grow its fleet. After a thorough evaluation of several different aircraft, including the B787, the carrier has signed a firm contract to buy three new A330-200 aircraft to replace its existing fleet of B747s and B767s with newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft delivering the lowest operating costs and highest productivity in its category.
The A330-200 aircraft will be delivered in 2013 and operated from Fiji on trans-Pacific routes to Los Angeles and throughout the Asia-Pacific region to Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.
“The A330 is the most versatile and fuel-efficient aircraft in its category today, and it is clearly the best aircraft for modernising our fleet, optimising our network, and ensuring future growth opportunities as we position Air Pacific to be the preferred airline in the South Pacific,” said Dave Pflieger, Managing Director and CEO of Air Pacific. “We are confident that our customers and visitors to Fiji will be excited about the outstanding comfort and capability of these outstanding new aircraft.”
“The A330 is without question the most eco-efficient, wide-body aircraft in its class. Outstanding reliability, fuel efficiency and low operational costs have made the aircraft a favourite with operators and customers around the world. We are delighted to welcome Air Pacific as a new Airbus customer, and we look forward to being part of their development and growth,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers.
With a true wide-body fuselage creating very high comfort standards, the A330-200 is also able to accommodate seat and class configurations and in-flight entertainment options to suit diverse customer requirements. It also has the excellent operational flexibility necessary to serve a wide range of route structures, providing operators with very low operating costs per seat.
Airbus has recorded over 1,100 orders for the A330 Family, with more than 800 aircraft currently flying with more than 90 operators worldwide. In addition to passenger aircraft, the A330 Family also includes freighter, VIP and military transport / tanker variants.

Whitejets entra nos voos regulares no Brasil Aposta é no eixo Rio - São Paulo - Recife

Presstur
