Air Guyane Express and subsidiary Air Antilles Express were both issued Foreign Air Carrier Permits by the US Department of Transportation with effect from July 28. According to documents seen by ch-aviation, the permit entitles the two carriers to operate foreign scheduled and charter air transportation of persons, property, and mail between Guadeloupe, Martinique, and St. Martin, on the one hand, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, on the other.
Service is restricted to aircraft with a maximum seating of 60 persons and having a maximum payload capacity of no more than 18,000 pounds.
Between them, Air Antilles Express and Air Guyane Express operate a fleet of five ATR42s on a route network covering the Caribbean islands of Martinique, Guadeloupe, the Dominican Republic, St. Maarten/Saint Martin, St. Lucia, St. Barthelemy, and Dominica.
