The General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Bolivia issued type certificate for the MA60 aircraft made by AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. (XAC) on Aug. 20, paving the way for the China-made aircraft to enter service in Bolivia.
XAC delivered two MA60s to Bolivia in Feb. 2008, opening a new chapter for the MA60 aircraft's soaring in the skies of South America.
AVIC International enhanced its sales and marketing efforts in Bolivia starting 2010. The two parties inked an order for 4 more MA60s on May 13, 2014.
As of now, the MA60 aircraft has been granted type certificate by the civil aviation authorities of nine countries. Twenty seven customers around the world have ordered more than 270 MA60s, and nearly 100 aircraft have been delivered.
The MA60 aircraft are operated on more than 260 routes in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and South Pacific, with flight movements and flight hours both exceeding 270,000.
