Aero K (South Korea) LOW COST CARRIER

Aero K, formerly known as KAIR Airlines, is a proposed South Korean LCC to be based at Cheongju Airport. Aero K plans to operate point-to-point services to destinations in North East Asia, including China, Taiwan and Japan, as well as Vietnam. It was initially expected to commence service operations in 2018, however, a revised launch date has not been specified. The start-up placed a firm order for eight A320 aircraft on 13-Mar-2017.

Aero K received its AOC from South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on 28-Dec-2020 following previous delays due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The carrier received approval from South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) to commence twice daily Jeju-Cheongju service on 19-Feb-2021.
