Apsara International Air, a new carrier jointly owned by Chinese and Cambodian investors, on Wednesday 8 October started to operate daily domestic flights from Phnom Penh (PNH) to the tourist resort of Siem Reap (REP). The short 235-kilometre sector will be flown daily with an A320. Competition on the route comes from Cambodia Angkor Air which operates 36 weekly flights using mostly ATR 72s.
Apsara International Air has launched domestic services in Cambodia with an A320 that used to be operated by Skywings Asia Airlines. The new airline’s IATA code is IP which used to be used by Atyrau Airways of Kazakhstan before that airline ceased operations in 2009. Anna.aero
