Atlantic Airways (RC, Vágar) has signed a five-year contract with Folkeferie.dk wherein it will supply the Danish tour operator with capacity for flights to southern Europe with effect from next year.
Folkeferie currently uses Denmark's Jet Time (JO, Copenhagen Kastrup) and DAT - Danish Air Transport (DX, Kolding) to provide it with charter flights from Copenhagen Kastrup and Billund to Malta, Madeira and Greece.
For its part, the Faroese carrier's CEO, Jóhanna á Bergi, has hailed the agreement as a solution to its overcapacity concerns.
Atlantic Airways will use two of its A319-100s and a maiden A320-200 (sl), expected in December this year, to carry out the flights.
