Poland's LOT to lease three B787-9s from ACG

LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) has signed a firm agreement with Aviation Capital Group for the longterm lease of three B787-9s the US-based lessor has confirmed in a statement. Sourced from ACG's Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) order book, the first of the widebody twinjets is expected to be delivered in March 2018. They will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 powerplants and will be configured with twenty-four seats in Business, twenty-one in Premium, and 249 in Economy class.

Outlining the carrier's proposed longterm expansion plan, LOT Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rafał Milczarski said in September last year the Polish carrier would operate sixteen B787 Family aircraft by 2020. It currently has eight B787-8s on order from Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) of which six have thus far been delivered.
According to the ch-aviation route database, LOT's B787-8s are currently deployed on scheduled flights from Warsaw Chopin to each of Beijing Capital, Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles Int'l, New York JFK, Newark, Seoul Incheon, Tallinn Lennart Meri, Tokyo Narita, and Toronto Pearson. The B787-9s will initially be deployed on LOT’s most popular routes which include such as New York and Chicago.

"At first Boeing 787-9 will operate flights to destinations in the United States of America. However we hope that soon, we will see them flying to Asia as well,” Milczarski added
