Alaska Air Group is evaluating the future of Hawaiian Airlines' fleet of 19 Boeing 717 aircraft, which operate exclusively inter-island flights in Hawaii. Hawaiian has operated this model for over two decades, with the average age of the fleet approaching 24 years.
Hawaiian also flies the Airbus A321neo on some inter-island flights.
The B737 is one of the possible replacements.
