Mozambique Airlines (LAM) plans to expand its operational fleet to 13 aircraft by the end of 2026 as part of its fleet renewal and business recovery strategy, according to Management Committee Chairman Dane Kondic.
The airline expects to add four aircraft by December, provided its ongoing technical and operational restructuring progresses as planned. The expansion is intended to support growing demand on domestic and regional routes while improving flight punctuality and operational reliability.
The fleet growth will include the return of aircraft that have undergone major maintenance as well as the introduction of additional aircraft, increasing LAM’s available capacity and network resilience.
LAM said the initiative forms part of a broader modernization program aimed at restoring operational stability, strengthening its competitive position and improving the long-term financial sustainability of Mozambique’s national carrier.
