PARIS AIR SHOW - Boeing Signs Orders and Commitments for 17 747-8 Intercontinentals
"These orders for the 747-8 Intercontinental mark a major milestone for the program and demonstrate the market's need for an airplane of its size and range," said Jim Albaugh, president and CEO, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "It will play a valuable role in further growing these carriers long-haul route networks."
The orders bring the 747-8 Intercontinental total backlog to 50 firm aircraft, plus five from a commitment from Air China contingent on Chinese Government approval. It also brings the total 747-8 backlog, including 76 747-8 Freighters, to 126.
The new 747-8 Intercontinental carries 467 passengers in a three-class configuration. The airplane features a new wing design and an upgraded flight deck. The airplane interior incorporates features from the 787 Dreamliner including a new curved, upswept architecture that will give passengers a greater sense of space and comfort, while adding more room for personal belongings. The architecture will be accentuated by lighting technology that provides smooth transitions for a more restful flight.
Using 787-technology GEnx-2B engines, the airplane will be quieter, produce lower emissions and achieve better fuel economy than any competing jetliner. The 747-8 Intercontinental is more than 10 percent lighter per seat than the Airbus A380 and consumes 11 percent less fuel per passenger. That translates into a trip-cost reduction of 21 percent and a seat-mile cost reduction of more than 6 percent compared to the A380

Presstur 20-06-2011 (06h11) O novo Boeing B747-8 Intercontinental, uma versão alongada do seu lendário “jumbo, fez ontem em dez horas os 8.149 quilómetros entre Seattle, EUA, e Le Bourge, França, onde é uma uma das “estrelas” do fabricante norte-americano para a edição deste ano do Paris Air Show.
O novo avião vem com 467 lugares em três classes, mais 51 que o seu antecessor, o 747-400, mas continua a não superar o rival A380 da Airbus, de 525 lugares.
A família 747 “nasceu” há 42 anos e até 2005 era o maior avião comercial em operação.
Mais do que a sua capacidade, a Boeing destaca o seu desempenho e inovação tecnológica.
O novo avião, diz o fabricante norte-americano, terá o mais baixo custo por lugar x milha percorrida (ASM) entre os grandes transportadores.
Relativamente ao seu antecessor, o 747-400, a Boeing diz que a nova versão tem um custo por ASM 12% menor que o seu predecessor, o B747-400, acrescentando tem um economia de 16% no consumo de combustível, as suas emissões de carbono são 16% menores e o ruído é 30% menor.
A Boeing, que reclama que o 747-8 Intercontinental é “mais limpo e mais eficientes que qualquer avião da sua classe”, também apresenta algumas comparações com o A380, relativamente ao qual diz que o seu novo aparelho é 10% mais leve por lugar e consome 11% menos combustível por passageiro, levando a custo de operação por ASM 6% menor.
Na raiz está a inovação tecnológica, simbolizada no “8” de 747-8, e que vem da incorporação de tecnologias que foram desenvolvidas para o 787-Dreamliner.
Outro dos aspectos destacados pelo fabricante norte-americano é que o novo 747-8 pode operar em segurança para todos os aeroportos que já recebem o 747-400.
A sua autonomia é de 14.815 quilómetros, o que significa, sublinha a Boeing, que pode voar em qualquer par de cidades a nível mundial.
O preço de catálogo é 317,5 milhões de dólares e a Boeing já tem 33 aparelhos encomendados, 20 dos quais pela Lufthansa, que é a companhia que irá estrear o novo avião em linha comercial, previsivelmente nos primeiros meses do próximo ano.
A primeira entrega, porém, será para um cliente VIP, que receberá o 747-8 Intercontinental ainda este ano

Fokker Aircraft Services entrega o primeiro A320 CJ
A Fokker Aircraft Services (FAS) com sucesso entregou o Airbus A320 CJ numa configuração VIP de chefe de estado com 26 assentos para a empresa Masterjet, baseada em Le Bourget, França. Essa é a primeira vez que um A320 é produzido numa configuração de layout interno de 26 assentos, e é certificado para transporte privado e comercial pela EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) e FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).

Boeing (NYSE: BA) delivered to GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) its 275th Next-Generation 737 yesterday. GECAS leasing customer, China United Airlines, will operate the milestone airplane, a Next-Generation 737-800.
“Taking delivery of our 275th Next-Generation 737 speaks to the success of the airplane and the value it brings to the market,“ said Norman C.T. Liu, president and CEO of GECAS. "Over the years, GECAS has successfully leased many 737s to airlines around the world."
To date, GECAS has ordered 349 Next-Generation 737 models.
The latest members of the Boeing 737 family -- the 737-600/-700/-800/-900ER models -- continue the 737’s popularity and reliability in commercial jet transport. The Next-Generation family has won orders for more than 5,691 airplanes. Boeing has delivered more than 3,622 Next-Generation 737s through April 30, 2011.

Cebu Pacific to order 30 A321neo aircraft
Cebu Pacific of the Philippines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus for the purchase of 30 A321neo aircraft. The carrier has also exercised existing options for seven more standard A320s, increasing to 41 its total firm orders for the Airbus single aisle product line. The aircraft will join an existing fleet of A319s and A320s flying on the carrier's fast growing domestic and regional network.

First Sukhoi Superjet 100 for Aeroflot entered into commercial operation
Today the Aeroflot Russian Airlines completed the first passenger flight of new Russian regional jet Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) from Moscow to St. Petersburg. This flight marked the beginning of commercial operation of the new aircraft by the Russian National carrier.

Boeing entrega primeiro B777-300ER á TAAG / Boeing Delivers First 777-300ER to TAAG
Today’s delivery is the first of two airplanes ordered by TAAG in October 2009. TAAG will use the airplanes for route expansion to destinations including direct routes to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Lisbon and Oporto.
