LAMIA commences domestic Venezuelan operations

LAMIA (Porlamar) officially launched operations on Saturday, November 2 with flights to Porlamar using one of its four ARJ-85s. According to Ricardo Albacete, the president of LAMIA, the airline aims to promote inbound tourism with long-term plans to serve the Caribbean, Brazil, Colombia, Panama and Aruba in addition to Canaima, Merida, among other domestic destinations. It had originally planned to operate from Merida but now has changed plans to be operating out of Porlamar.
