Air Pegasus, secures AOP, to launch next month

Air Pegasus (PPL, Bangalore Int'l) will commence scheduled flights early next month after it secured its Air Operators Permit (AOP) from the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) this week.

"We received the flying permit from DGCA today," managing director Shyson Thomas told India's Express newspaper on Tuesday, March 24. "At present, we have two ATRs, one more is scheduled to come in from Ireland-based leasing firm Elix Aviation in the first week of April. We will start services in 6-8 sectors in the next two weeks.”

Using its first aircraft, an ex-Kingfisher Airlines ATR72-500 VT-APA (cn 699), the budget start-up has alluded to plans to serve Kochi Int'l, Tuticorin, Thiruvananthapuram, Hubli, Goa, Belgaum, Rajahmundry and Chennai from its Bangalore Int'l hub.
