India's Star Air secures AOP, preps for launch



Star Air (India) (OG, Belgaum) has announced it has been granted its Air Operator's Permit (AOP) by the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The licence allows the start-up to operate scheduled passenger flights.

In a statement, Star Air said its first route would cover daily flights from its Bangalore Int'l base to Hubli using E145 equipment. Other touted destinations include Tirupati, Pune, and Delhi/Hindon.

As part of its certification process, it used a single E145, VT-GSC (msn 14500845).
