SPECIAL COLOURS - EgyptAir celebrates 95th birthday with a retrojet

EgyptAir is celebrating its 95th birthday this year. As part of the celebrations, the airline has unveiled a retrojet-livery on Boeing B737-81M SU-GGB (44422). The aircraft was unveiled in Cairo on 6 May 2026.

The livery is the one the airline introduced in the 1980s, featuring red and gold. It conducted its first commercial flight on the day of introduction, flying from Cairo to Hurghada.

EgyptAir was founded on 10 October 1971 as the successor to United Arab Airlines. It currently operates a fleet of 73 aircraft.
