IndiGo plans to have two new Airbus A321XLR aircraft in its fleet by the end of March 2027, as part of its preparation to expand into medium-range international markets, including more short-haul routes serving Indian airlines.
Currently, the airline operates over 430 aircraft, including four A321XLRs. The planned expansion would involve adding five or six more units of this model to its fleet.
The A321XLR, a long-range version of the Airbus A321neo, has a stated maximum range of approximately 8,700 km.
