JetStar to deploy 787s to Phuket, Singapore, Honolulu from 1Q 2014

JetStar Airways is to suspend various intra-Asian routes in favour of adding capacity to its international Australian network ahead of the arrival of its first B787-8s later this year. In a press release, the Australian LCC said it would suspend its four weekly services between Singapore Changi and Osaka Kansai from November 1 and its three weekly services between Singapore and Beijing Capital from November 30. Osaka will continue to be served from Singapore via Manila and Taipei Taoyuan. As a result, the freed-up A330-200s will be used to launch nonstop services between Melbourne Tullamarine and Phuket from December 14 and add frequencies to its Melbourne to Singapore Changi and Honolulu routes from December 18 and 19 respectively. While the new Melbourne-based services will initially be operated by JetStar’s existing fleet of A330s, they will be phased out at the end of January 2014 in favour of the airline's first three B787-8s.
