Air India on 15 December introduced a new service from Ahmedabad to London Heathrow via Mumbai

The 7,651-kilometre route will be flown by the Star Alliance member’s 787-8s which will operate the service on a daily basis. Air India also operates a thrice-daily service from Delhi to London Heathrow. This week has also seen the launch of domestic flights to Durgapur in north-east India from both Delhi (DEL) and Kolkata (CCU). Durgapur is a relatively new airport which was opened earlier this year and is known locally as Kazi Nasrul Islam Airport. Air India is currently the only airline serving the airport
