Norwegian UK to move Florida, California ops to main hubs

Norwegian (DY, Oslo Gardermoen) has announced it will replace its existing services from London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale Int'l and Oakland with new routes to Miami Int'l and San Francisco, CA, respectively, as of March 29, 2019.

"The change in airport destination reflects customer demand and the increased cargo capabilities these airports offer Norwegian Cargo," the airline said.

Both routes are currently operated by Norwegian UK (DI, London Gatwick) using B787-9 equipment. During the Winter 2018/19 season, the airline flies to Fort Lauderdale 7x weekly and to Oakland 3x weekly. Flights to Miami and San Franciso are currently scheduled as 5x weekly each.

At present, Norwegian plans to continue to retain all other routes operating from/to Fort Lauderdale and Oakland as previously planned. From the Floridian airport, it will serve Barcelona El Prat, Copenhagen Kastrup, Oslo Gardermoen, Paris CDG and Stockholm Arlanda next summer, while from Oakland it will operate to the same five airports as well as Rome Fiumicino.



The carrier continues to also operate to Tampa Int'l and Orlando Int'l in Florida and Los Angeles Int'l in California, as well as to Austin Bergstrom Int'l, Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Denver Int'l, Las Vegas McCarran, New York JFK, and Seattle Tacoma Int'l elsewhere in the United States.
