SPECIAL LIVERY - JAL×GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT Takes Off

In conjunction with the Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan, the “JAL GUNDAM JET” commenced domestic flights from March 3 

Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President and Group CEO: Mitsuko Tottori, hereinafter “JAL”) and Bandai Namco Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Masaru Kawaguchi, hereinafter “Bandai Namco”) are pleased to announce the launch of the “JAL×GUNDAM FLY TO THE FUTURE PROJECT” in collaboration with Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan (hereinafter “the Expo”) to be held in Yumeshima, Osaka from April 2025. As part of this initiative, the Expo Edition “JAL GUNDAM JET” began operations on March 3.

The Expo  Edition “JAL GUNDAM JET” is a specially designed aircraft featuring the image of the “RX-78F00/E GUNDAM (EX-001 G.L.R.S.S Feather UNIT)” (*) which appears in a new video from the “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION” exhibited by Bandai Namco at the Expo. The aircraft will also feature the official character of the Expo, “MYAKU-MYAKU”.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, will operate on domestic routes. Details and flight schedule will be announced on the JAL website.

By having the “JAL GUNDAM JET” fly through the skies of Japan through this collaboration, the aim is to share the vision of the “GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE PAVILION”, which seeks to connect people worldwide through GUNDAM and encourages everyone to think about the “Future” together. This message is especially aimed at children, who will shape the future.

Furthermore, JAL will offer limited-edition goods and commemorative tours throughout Japan in collaboration with GUNDAM under the slogan “Discover the sights and sounds of your favorite anime, throughout Japan!” This initiative will provide opportunities for both domestic and international travelers to explore Japan. The charm of Japan will continue to be promoted worldwide through anime, increasing connections and relationships in various regions, and realizing a vibrant society and future where people and various things can move freely.

JAL and Bandai Namco will work together on various initiatives, including the operation of the “JAL GUNDAM JET,” to promote the Expo.
