The last flight by British airline Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. linking Narita airport near Tokyo and London's Heathrow Airport left on Sunday, ending 25 years of service connecting the two countries.
The airline had decided to stop its Narita-London flights as part of a revision of its worldwide routes. Its Tokyo office also closed operations the same day.
Virgin Atlantic set up its Japan branch in 1988 and began flying between Narita and London's Gatwick Airport in May 1989.
