flyafrica.com’s Inaugural Johannesburg – Bulawayo Flight Signals Rapid Expansion Phase

flyafrica.com, Africa’s Low Fare Airline, launched its inaugural flight between Johannesburg and Bulawayo on Monday 2 March.  flyafrica.com’s new daily service between Johannesburg and Bulawayo complements our daily flights between Johannesburg and Harare. Monday's inaugural flight departed 9 minutes early and reinforces flyafrica.com as both a low-fare and on-time airline. flyafrica.com now flies to Johannesburg from three cities in Zimbabwe: Bulawayo, Harare and Victoria Falls.

Professor Chaka Karase, CEO of Zimbabwe flyafrica expressed on Monday 2 March, “We are very excited with today’s development. We promised to bring travellers on this route relief from high fares and we are very proud that we have done just that. A fare to Bulawayo tomorrow on flyafrica.com is only 570 ZAR. This compares to a South African Airline that is charging 2,000 ZAR for a flight on the same day! With our fares 70% below our competitors we are proud to be Africa’s low fare airline”

Monday's launch of daily Bulawayo to Johannesburg flights continues flyafrica.com’s ambitious expansion plans into Africa.  flyafrica.com has launched a second airline, Namibia flyafrica, and flights from Windhoek to Johannesburg and Cape Town will commence in March 2015. flyafrica.com has also announced flights between Johannesburg and Lusaka.  Over the next three months flyafrica.com will launch two new airlines, induct three more Boeing 737s into its fleet and launch five more routes in Southern Africa.

“Following the great enthusiasm and support for our flights we are continuing with our expansion plans,” says Professor Karase.  “This launch is great news for all travellers in Africa. We promised to bring low-fares to the market and we are delighted to be delivering on that promise.”
