Sichuan Airlines now operates scheduled flights between Chengdu (CTU), hosts of this year’s World Routes next month, and Prague (PRG)
On 12 August the Chinese carrier began twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) flights on the 7,429-kilometre route having previously operated the city pair as a charter flight earlier this year. No other carrier connects these two airports with non-stop flights, which the airline is operating using its 277-seat A330-200s. This is Sichuan Airlines’ second route to Europe as the carrier already serves Moscow Sheremetyevo, thrice-weekly, also from Chengdu. For Prague it is the airport’s third Chinese destination as China Eastern Airlines already serves Shanghai Pudong (thrice-weekly) and Hainan Airlines has non-stop flights to Beijing (also thrice-weekly)
