A brief history
Rimbun Air was founded in 2017, initially operating with DHC-6 aircraft, focusing on charter flights for passengers and cargo, primarily in remote areas of Papua.

In 2021, it expanded its fleet with Boeing 737-300 aircraft, offering air cargo routes to Makassar, Kendari, and Pontianak.

In early 2022, the addition of another Boeing 737-300 allowed it to expand operations to Banjarmasin and Balikpapan.

At the end of 2022, it received its first Boeing 737-800, launching new routes to Pekanbaru, Batam, Palu, Gorontalo, and Manado.

In 2023, it added two more Boeing 737-300 aircraft and expanded services to Jayapura and Wamena.
