Victoria Int'l Airways, eyes Q2 launch

Victoria International Airways is a Spanish start-up backed by several entrepreneurs from Málaga and Mallorca. Founded in 2013, the carrier says it intends to provide ACMI and charter operations to the Spanish tour operator and travel agency sector using A320 aircraft.

Though it has the necessary funding and a business plan in place, delays in sourcing an initial aircraft required for it to gain its Air Operators Certificate have lead to delays in its launch. Given the need to launch ahead of the upcoming summer season, management has reportedly considered commencing operations as a virtual carrier chartering aircraft from other airlines while it completes its certification.

According to its website, Victoria Int'l plans to operate at least two aircraft from either Malaga or Palma de Mallorca Son Sant Joan to destinations throughout Europe.
