VietJetAir (VJ, Hanoi Noi Bai International) expects to receive more than 600 Airbus and Boeing aircraft up to 2035 as it expands its international network and aviation services businesses, the low-cost carrier said in a press release.
Its disclosed commitments include 200 B737 MAX jets, forty A330-900Ns, and cumulative orders for 280 A321neo aircraft, across its Vietnamese and Thai AOCs. In the first half of 2026, VietJetAir arranged financing for twelve B737-8s. It also has commitments to dry lease ten C909s.
Thai VietJetAir (VZ, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) is also poised to receive additional B737-8s for network expansion. Meanwhile, Vietjet Qazaqstan (IQ, Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev), whose first B737-8 is scheduled for delivery in September 2026, continues to build out services in Central Asia.
Beyond passenger operations, the group is developing its ground handling, cargo, training, maintenance, aviation finance, and technology sectors. Subsidiary AirportNEO has initiated ground handling operations at major Vietnamese airports, while the group prepares to launch a dedicated MRO unit.
VietJetAir reported first-half consolidated revenue of VND51.5 trillion (USD2 billion), a 44% year-over-year increase, and a consolidated after-tax profit of VND1.37 trillion (USD52.2 million).
According to ch-aviation data, VietJetAir-branded airlines operate 135 aircraft cumulatively. VietJetAir's 107-aircraft fleet comprises sixteen A320-200s, thirty-six A321-200s, eleven A321-200Ns, thirty-six A321-200NX, and eight A330-300s; Thai VietJetAir operates six A320-200s, six A321-200s, and eleven B737-8s; and Vietjet Qazaqstan operates five DHC-8-Q400s.
