Aero Nomad to compete with Uzbek operators Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air.
Kyrgyzstan-based privately-held carrier Aero Nomad inaugurated scheduled passenger services between Bishkek (BSZ) and Tashkent (TAS) on August 23. The route connecting the two Central Asian capitals will operate twice weekly using Airbus A320 narrowbody aircraft.
Aero Nomad fills the void left by Kyrgyz private operator TezJet, whose Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was revoked in July following a serious safety incident.
The move restores three-carrier competition on the sector, joining Uzbek operators Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air. Market capacity could expand further as Kyrgyz state-owned startup Asman Airlines has also signaled intent to enter the market. According to Uzbekistan Airports management company, Aero Nomad is eyeing broader regional expansion with prospective routes linking Bishkek to Samarkand and Urgench.
Aero Nomad Airlines launched operations in November 2021 from its primary base at Manas International Airport in Bishkek. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A320s, serving a network of some 20 destinations across Central and South Asia, Russia, and the Middle East.
