Cambodia Airways (KR, Phnom Penh) has signed a dry-lease agreement with Singapore-based lessor Avation for one ATR72-600, with delivery scheduled for February 2026.
The airline has not disclosed the seating configuration of the turboprop, which will be powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127M engines.
The ATR72-600 will be the carrier's first turboprop type. Currently, it exclusively operates Airbus narrowbody aircraft, namely two A319-100s and three A320-200s.
The airline said the aircraft will support expanding into domestic and short regional markets and complement its existing trunk routes. Cambodia Airways plans to leverage the ATR72-600's faster turnaround times compared to jets to increase flight frequencies.
The introduction of the turboprop also places Cambodia Airways in more direct competition with Air Cambodia (K6, Siem Reap), which already deploys ATR - Avions de Transport Régional aircraft on domestic routes.
