Kadapa, an Indian city in the south-central part of Andhra Pradesh, has resumed commercial passenger flights following the departure of Air Pegasus (OP, Bangalore Int'l) late last year.
TruJet (2T, Hyderabad Int'l) commenced 4x weekly passenger flights to the airfield from Hyderabad Int'l effective Friday, April 8. Additional services from Chennai, Bangalore Int'l, Vijayawada, and Aurangabad are scheduled for the near future.
The now defunct Vayudoot (PF, Delhi Safdarjung) was the last scheduled carrier to offer continuous service to Kadapa back in the 1980s following which the airfield fell into general disrepair. However, in 2015 the airport reopened following extensive repairs leading to Air Pegasus launching its short-lived flights to Bangalore.
