Airline expands key route with new night flight from Muscat

Oman Air will launch a second daily flight between Muscat and London Heathrow Airport on Tuesday 12 April 2016.

The new outbound service will be a night flight, departing Muscat every day at 0125 and arriving at London Heathrow’s Terminal 4 at 0630. The return flight will then leave Heathrow at 0830 and arrive back in the Omani capital at 1855.

This complements Oman Air’s existing 1400 departure from Muscat and 2015 return service from London. This flight operates to and from Heathrow T3, but Oman Air said it intends to operate both daily flights to T4 in future.

Oman Air said the new service was being launched “in response to overwhelming demand from air travellers”.

“We are delighted to be launching a second daily frequency between Muscat and London,” said Paul Gregorowitsch, CEO of Oman Air. “The popularity of Muscat as a destination for UK travellers has never been greater. Furthermore, the long-standing links between the UK and Oman ensure that London remains one of the most popular destinations for Omani travelers.

“Oman Air’s second daily service between these two great cities will therefore be warmly welcomed in the UK and Oman. In addition, customers flying to and from other destinations within our growing international network will enjoy greater choice and convenience, as well as easier connections at Muscat,” he added.

The second daily service will be operated using a three-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which comes equipped with mobile phone and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Oman Air launched its first flight to London in 2007. Alongside Bangkok, this was one of the airline’s first two intercontinental destinations.
