Thai AirAsia launched three new routes at the start of the summer season, all operated daily using the LCC’s A320s and none facing any competition.

On 24 March it began linking Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK) and Luang Prabang (LPQ) in Laos. This summer Thai AirAsia will serve 46 destinations non-stop from Bangkok Don Mueang, up from 42 last summer. On 1 April the carrier launched two routes from its new base at Hat Yai (HDY), an international route to Johor Bahru (JHB) in Malaysia and a domestic route to Chiang Rai (CEI). This brings to five the number of destinations served by Thai AirAsia from Hat Yai. At 1,448-kilometres the new domestic route is actually the longest of the three new routes started.
