V Air launched its third new route in March with the addition of Manila (MNL). Launched on 27 March, the Taiwanese LCC will operate a four times weekly service using its A320s and A321s on the 1,173-kilometre route from Taipei Taoyuan (TPE). The route is already well served by China Airlines (14 weekly flights), EVA Air (13), Cebu Pacific Air (10), Philippine Airlines (eight) and KLM (seven). The inaugural flight took off with a load factor of 80%. Bernard Hsu, CCO, V Air said: “We at V Air are delighted to witness our ninth scheduled service from Taipei to Manila launch. As the first Taiwanese low-cost airline to tap the ever-growing Philippine market, we are looking forward to be the preferred airline of the travelling Filipino on a budget. Our operations in Manila will be significant in securing a strong foothold in the region.” Flights operate during day-time hours every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Earlier in March V Air also launched flights to Tokyo Haneda and Ibaraki in Japan
